R.E.D. gain Wildlife Aware accreditation
6th May 2014, by Red Pest Control
R.E.D. have been awarded accreditation to the Wildlife Aware Scheme
The Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use, (CRRU) has awarded R.E.D. Pest Control accreditation to use its logos to promote Wildlife Aware practices in the application of rodenticides.
The Wildlife Aware Campaign is aimed at the pest control industry and its main purpose is to educate and inform pest control contractors of the risks of secondery poisoning to non target species.
These non target species such as foxes, badgers and birds of prey are at risk from exposure where rodenticides are used in an irresponsible manner.
To achieve the accreditation R.E.D technicians had to attend a Wildlife Aware course at Airth Castle and pass a subsequent examination.
Speaking on the award, R.E.D. Pest Control Director, Gary Mitchell said
" the award demonstrates how as a company, R.E.D. take very seriously our responsibilities not only to provide innovative and effective pest control to our clients but also are aware how our actions can adversely effect the environments we operate in."
